Mobile Civil Enforcement Officer – Oxfordshire

Locations: Henley-on-Thames (RG9), Wallingford (OX10), Thame (OX9) & Abingdon (OX14)

Comity Recruitment is seeking experienced Mobile Civil Enforcement Officers to support our client parking services team across multiple Oxfordshire towns.

Base Locations

Henley-on-Thames – RG9
Wallingford – OX10
Thame – OX9
Abingdon-on-Thames – OX14

Candidates should be based within a reasonable travel distance or willing to commute across these areas.

This opportunity offers excellent flexibility, competitive pay, and the chance to work independently across beautiful, well-managed local areas. If you have previous experience as a Parking Enforcement Officer or Traffic Warden, this is an ideal short-term contract to demonstrate your enforcement knowledge and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned streets and car parks to enforce parking regulations.
• Issue PCNs where vehicles are found in contravention.
• Provide clear information and polite assistance to the public.
• Report defective signs, lines, or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate handheld records and complete daily patrol logs.
• Ensure that enforcement is carried out fairly, safely, and in accordance with local authority policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Civil Enforcement Officer, Parking Enforcement Officer, or Traffic Warden (mandatory).
• Must be fully mobile with your own vehicle and valid UK driving licence.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong awareness of safety, observation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and represent Comity Recruitment professionally.
• Knowledge of parking legislation, Traffic Orders, and the use of handheld devices is desirable.

Pay & Benefits

• £14.00 per hour (rolled-up pay)

  • Basic Pay: £12.49/hr

  • Holiday Pay: £1.51/hr

• Mileage allowance: 45p per mile

• Contract duration: 3 months (with possible extension)

• Flexible working routes and variety across Oxfordshire towns.

About the Role

As a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for patrolling designated areas, identifying vehicles parked in contravention of parking regulations, and issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) where appropriate. You will also provide information to the public, ensure compliance with local restrictions, and support safe traffic flow in busy high-street and residential areas.

This is a mobile role requiring regular travel between Henley-on-Thames, Wallingford, Thame, and Abingdon, so having your own reliable vehicle is essential. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile, and your route will vary depending on operational needs.
