Job description
Comity Recruitment is recruiting a Mobile Car Park Attendant to cover retail parking sites in Middlesbrough, Durham and surrounding areas. No previous parking enforcement experience is required. This customer-facing role offers 35 paid hours per week, an immediate start and a temporary-to-permanent opportunity.
You must hold a full UK driving licence and have your own vehicle available for work. Suitable Class 1 business-use motor insurance must be in place before you start; you can apply if you are willing to upgrade your existing policy.
Where you will work
The role is primarily based around Parkway Centre, Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough TS8 0TJ, with work also at Dragonville Retail Park, Dragon Lane, Durham DH1 2WP and other assigned sites in the surrounding area. You will travel between allocated locations as required.
This is a mobile position involving travel between sites, outdoor patrols and regular contact with members of the public and site teams.
Pay and mileage
- Basic pay: £12.94 per hour.
- Holiday pay: £1.56 per hour.
- Total rolled-up pay: £14.50 per hour, including holiday pay.
- Mileage allowance: 45p per mile.
Hours and current working pattern
35 paid hours per week. The current shift pattern is:
- Monday: 09:00–17:00
- Tuesday: 09:00–17:00
- Friday: 09:00–17:00
- Saturday: 09:00–17:00
- Sunday: 09:00–17:00
Each shift includes a one-hour unpaid break. This gives 40 scheduled hours and 35 paid hours across the five shifts.
Working days, hours and locations may change in line with business needs, client requirements and operational coverage.
What you will do as a Mobile Car Park Attendant
- Travel between assigned parking locations across Middlesbrough, Durham and surrounding areas.
- Carry out regular patrols and monitor compliance with site parking regulations.
- Issue Parking Charge Notices where appropriate, following client policies and procedures.
- Provide professional, helpful customer service to members of the public.
- Build positive working relationships with clients and site contacts.
- Use handheld equipment accurately to record parking activity.
- Manage your workload independently and follow site-specific instructions.
- Report relevant site issues or incidents promptly.
- Represent the client professionally at all times.
What we are looking for
- No previous parking enforcement experience required.
- A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle available for work.
- Class 1 business-use motor insurance, or willingness to upgrade before starting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- A reliable, punctual and professional approach.
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
- Ability to follow procedures and site-specific requirements.
- Willingness to travel between multiple sites and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Immediate availability preferred.
